Community Reviews
Pretty Good Overall
reviewed on: 07/18/2019 by AnonymousWe have been fairly pleased, while trying to be realistic about our expectations. My understanding is that most all of these facilities under staffed. I've been told that there is a certain legal requirement for the number of CNAs that must be on site for the number of residents, and that they meet the minimum; but that amount is not realistic in my opinion. There are seniors in the memory section who need a LOT of help....from sometimes more than one CNA at a time. It wouldn't be possible to cover two residents with emergencies at once should that ever occur, and during meals it is impossible to get anyone to respond outside of the dining room. But adequate coverage is a problem throughout this business and I doubt we could find a place with more coverage than is mandated. (I think it is one CNA per 8 residents, but don't quote me on that. That might sound like a lot, but many of the memory residents are non-functioning.) The CNAs that are there are very warm and loving people and my loved one adores several of them. There are also more activities there than we could possibly participate in, and they try to involve every resident to the best of the resident's ability. The price is reasonable, given the market in this area, and the food is fantastic, much better than we had expected. And the maintenance department is very responsive. But I guess most important is that my loved one has never asked to leave, so that says a lot.
The administration was help...
reviewed on: 02/15/2014 by AnonymousThe administration was helpful with an excellent professional presence and more knowledge about the Veteran's opportunities than few others. The facility is too small and not a good match for my relative, but would be a good place for someone else to consider.
Great Place, But Understaffed
reviewed on: 10/02/2020 by AnonymousIt would depend on if they wanted to go into memory care or assisted living areas. When my husband was there that the CNAs were always understaffed, there wasn't enough supervision. They had several difficult and active memory care cases. The residents were going in to other people's rooms. There were three hallways, and the wasn't enough staff to cover these hallways. The activities are fantastic. The food is delicious. The people are wonderful. You need to have enough supervision to cover the the disability of the residents.
I really liked it. They let people be who they are which is great..
reviewed on: 06/02/2015 by AnonymousI really liked it. There was one old lady who had a fur coat on. I thought that was really cute. They let people be who they are which is great. She had this illusion that she bought the place and no one ever told her anything. It was really cute. The biggest problem was the location. It was a little far from where we live. The other thing is that it was expensive. I would like a flat rate. I didn't like the way they did pricing.
My Mom
reviewed on: 12/18/2015 by Ann GThese people are very good, some of the most friendly people I've ever met. My Mom has only been there for about a month now but she has settled right in which eases my mind greatly. It's not easy leaving you parent with strangers. There are a few hiccups but nothing that can't be fixed. So far we are very pleased with Kings Grant.
